
Andrew qualified at the Royal Free Hospital in London and underwent urological training in London, Reading and the West Yorkshire rotation in Leeds before taking up a substantive post at Addenbrooke's hospital in 1993.
Andrew wrote his thesis on the role of Chlamydia trachomatis in chronic abacterial prostatitis in 1991 and has had an interest in chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome since that time. and was a member of the International Prostatitis Collaborative Network at the NIH from 1998 - 2002. He also has a special interest in prostate cancer and is a member of the brachytherapy team at Addenbrooke's and also renal cancer, with a particular interest in nephron-sparing surgery and minimally invasive treatments such as cryotherapy. Andrew has recently been elected to the Renal Cancer Clinical Studies Group at the NCRI and is also a committee member of the British Prostate Group (BPG).
