Nimish Shah

Nimish completed his undergraduate training in medicine at Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in London in 1992. After basic surgical training, he undertook two years of research in neuromodulation of neuropathic bladder dysfunction in spinal cord injured patients, leading to a higher degree (Master of Surgery).

Following his specialist training in urology, he chose to subspecialise in endourology (endoscopic laser treatment of kidney stones, ureteric transitional cell carcinoma and benign enlargement of prostate) and minimally invasive (keyhole) surgery, at Guys Hospital and Kings College Hospital in London. He was appointed a consultant urological surgeon at Addenbrooke's NHS Foundation Trust and Hinchingbrooke NHS Trust in 2004, and has admitting rights at the Spire Cambridge Lea and Cambridge Nuffield Hospitals. In addition to general urology, his specialist interest include management of renal stone disease, laparoscopic surgery for benign and malignant kidney disease and robotic radical prostatectomy.
