He has performed more than 4,000 HoLEP procedures since 2002 and leads the highest-volume practice in the country, carrying out over 350 procedures each year. Many men are referred to him by other urologists for complex or challenging BPH cases.
Mr Aho is the inventor of two currently used HoLEP procedures:
The T-incision assisted Early apical release with V-dissection (TEV) Technique for enbloc HoLEP
The keyhole technique for ejaculation-sparing HoLEP. This offers the best chance (95%), of preserving ejaculatory function in men having prostate disobstructing surgery compared to all other surgical prostate procedures.
